AEW Talent Announces Split From Husband

Thunder Rosa is currently sidelined with an unspecified injury, which has unfortunately derailed her AEW career. And now, suggesting her personal life also hasn’t been going as intended, the popular luchadora has announced on social media that she has split from her husband, Brian Cervantes, the owner of Mission Pro Wrestling, after 14 years together.

“After 14 years together, Brian Cervantes and I have decided to go our separate ways in a friendly and respectful manner. Relationships sometimes change shape, but the care and respect remain. I had the privilege of raising and adopting his son as my own, a gift I will always carry in my heart. I’m grateful for the support I received at the beginning of my career, and I kindly ask for respect and understanding during this time of transition. Thank you for always standing by me.”Thunder Rosa

39-year-old Rosa, whose real name is Melissa Cervantes, broke into the business in 2014 and signed with Lucha Underground the following year, where she competed as Kobra Moon. From there, she worked for WOW and ROH, although her career really took off when she joined Billy Corgan’s NWA. This is because it subsequently opened the door for her work with AEW via their working relationship and ultimately led to Tony Khan buying her out of her contract, as he was so impressed with her work.
