AEW’s Rebel Shares Emotional Update In Her Battle Against Lymphoma

AEW talent Rebel has announced on X that she is officially disabled amid her ongoing battle with primary pulmonary lymphoma, a rare form of lung cancer. In a heartfelt post, holding a disabled parking placard, she expressed sadness but determination: “It saddens me to say that it’s official. Disabled. I won’t stop fighting. I am working on getting into a better rehab.” Absent from AEW TV since August 2022, the former TNA Knockout and Dallas Cowboys cheerleader continues to receive widespread support from fans who are praying for a miracle.

47-year-old Rebel, real name Tanea Brooks, began wrestling training at OVW, going on to debut in TNA with The Menagerie stable. Additionally, she competed in Stardom, had a brief NXT appearance, and joined AEW in 2019, initially as a backstage makeup artist, evolving into an on-screen role as Britt Baker’s comedic sidekick and manager. However, she has been out of the ring since 2024 due to health issues, which initially were believed to be pneumonia-related.
