Goldberg was a dominant force in the late 1990s, largely thanks to his WCW winning streak, hyped as an unbelievable 173-0. However, WWE opted to give Asuka a similar streak, with Asuka staying undefeated for an astonishing 914 days, which genuinely upset the WWE Hall of Famer.
And now, after Goldberg again vented about his record being surpassed in a new interview, dismissively calling Asuka “some girl,” the Japanese star has taken to X to defuse the situation, saying, “I’m not bothered by it at all. What he said came from his own perspective, and that’s fine.”
Many actually dispute Goldberg’s streak, arguing that WCW inflated the count, and in reality, the recently retired star wasn’t even undefeated, having lost a dark match to Chad Fortune just weeks after his debut. Nevertheless, Asuka’s streak is similarly questionable, as Eva Marie eliminated her from a battle royal three months into her NXT run, and she also failed to win a fatal four-way match against Bayley, Alexa Bliss, and Emma, with WWE seemingly overlooking this since she wasn’t pinned or submitted.
