Thanks to AEW introducing an offical women’s tag team division, ROH’s Miranda Alize, and former WWE talent Nixon Newell were given a chance to work together as a team. However, while most thought the real-life couple were set to break down boundaries, it was reported that the pair had walked out of Saturday night’s Collision taping after being told they were booked to put over Anna Jay and Tay Conti.
And now, having had time to investigate further, Fightful Select has confirmed that the reason they didn’t do this wasn’t because it would have been their second loss in two weeks, but due to the fact that the match was only going to be three minutes long.
While it isn’t the first time, and certainly won’t be the last time wrestlers walk out due to being unhappy with their booking, the fact that Newell, who has two unsuccessful runs in WWE as Tegan Nox, previously revealed she was struggling to get work makes this seem like an awful career decision. However, the Welsh wrestler has since opened an OnlyFans account, and, perhaps inspired by Mandy Rose, Cora Jade, and Lacey Evans, she believes that in the long term, she can make more money creating content than being an in-ring performer.
