Sadie Gibbs was released by All Elite Wrestling in 2020 due to travel restrictions preventing the British wrestler from entering the US. Subsequently, she announced her retirement from the business, and it seemed her future would be as a fitness model and coach. Still, she returned to the ring in 2024 and has since been rebuilding her career in Japan and Europe.
However, back in August, during a Sendai Girls show, she suffered a left leg injury while jumping down from the corner. And now in a video shared on X, she has revealed that following a medical evaluation, she needs surgery, stating, “there’s a lot of bone damage, there’s a lot of blood within the knee. I’ve got no ACL.”
While Gibbs initially had a short wrestling career, she still managed to pack 50 matches into her initial run between 2017 and 2019. During this time, in addition to AEW, she worked for Stardom, Pro Wrestling EVE, and WrestleGate Pro, sharing the ring with the likes of Gisele Shaw, Jamie Hayter, Bea Priestley, Mayu Iwatani, and even Joey Janela. And while her return hasn’t seen her wrestle names as big as those, at 33 years old, she has time to regain her former status, with her likely hoping for another chance to work for AEW or an opportunity to try out for WWE in the years to come.
