According to a report from Fightful Select, former ROH Women’s World Champion Mercedes Martinez, as well as  Matt Taven and Alex Abrahantes, have departed AEW/ROH following the expiration of their contracts. What’s next for all three is unclear, although Martinez recently announced plans for a final run in 2026 on the indies, which did indicate AEW had no plans for her.

45-year-old Martinez, whose real name is Jazmin Benitez, debuted in 2000 after training under ECW’s Jason Knight and soon began excelling on the independent circuit. And while it seemed she would never reach the big leagues, after impressing during the Mae Young Classic, she was signed by WWE. However, her time on the main roster was brief after she requested to be removed from the Retribution stable, leading to her eventual release.
