Former TNA Star Announces Her In-Ring Retirement

Veteran women’s wrestler Madison Rayne has retired from in-ring competition. This came after her December 21, 2025, tag match alongside Deonna Purrazzo against Billie Starkz, and Diamante aired on the January 1, 2026, episode of HonorClub, with the former TNA star saying in a backstage segment, “This time comes in everyone’s career.” Still, it should be noted that Rayne will continue mentoring talent, with both her and husband, Josh Mathews, part of the AEW family.

“I know it was coming. This time comes in everyone’s career. Lost a piece of myself when I lost my dad, but I’m refinding myself as a coach. Teaming with Deonna was the perfect way to end my 20-year career.”Madison Rayne

39-year-old Rayne, real name Ashley Lomberger, entered the professional wrestling business in 2005 via the independent circuit under the names Lexi Lane and Ashley Lane. This would lead her to TNA in 2009, where she became a five-time Knockouts World Champion and a three-time Knockouts Tag Team Champion as a member of The Beautiful People.  Additionally, she competed in ROH, WWE’s 2018 Mae Young Classic, and signed with AEW in 2022 as both a wrestler and coach.
