Former WWE star Summer Rae has taken to her Instagram Stories to encourage fans to get their yearly skin check, revealing that five weeks ago, she was diagnosed with precancerous melanoma. Thankfully, Rae appears to be OK after undergoing a procedure to remove it, with it known that the leading causes of this cell growth are sun exposure and tanning beds, with past sunburns also a factor.
42-year-old Rae, real name Danielle Moinet, signed with WWE in 2011 and soon debuted in developmental territory FCW as a ring announcer and general manager. From there, she transitioned to NXT, feuding with Paige and reaching the semi-finals of the inaugural NXT Women’s Championship tournament. Subsequently, she joined the main roster as Fandango’s valet, but injuries unfortunately hindered her career, and she was released in 2017.
