Former WWE & WCW Star Explains Why He Hated Wrestling Chyna

During a new interview with Two Man Power Trip, Perry Saturn revealed that he hated working with Chyna in WWE. However, it wasn’t because he personally disliked her, but because she lacked the strength to perform moves safely. While noting he respected her as a fellow Killer Kowalski trainee, he criticized spots where she risked dropping him on his head and said he was concerned about getting heat from management because of his stiff work style.

“WWE had us work with Joanie a lot, and she was awesome, man, a very good girl. There’s no way she was kicking anybody’s ass, though. I hated working with her because they would constantly have her do stuff she wasn’t strong enough to do … She was a Kowalski graduate, I’d known her a long time. She was a great woman, a great girl. I hated working with her because I knew I was going to end up landing on my head. And God forbid, because I’m stiff anyway, I knew I’d get heat for hitting her some kind of way.”- Perry Saturn

Chyna, real name Joan Marie Laurer, known as “The Ninth Wonder of the World,” before her 2016 death, pioneered intergender wrestling in WWE during the Attitude Era. As D-Generation X’s enforcer, she physically dominated male opponents, often delivering low blows before stepping into the ring herself, and making history by defeating Jeff Jarrett for the Intercontinental Championship at No Mercy 1999, becoming the first woman to hold the title. Arguably, her most memorable feud would be with Chris Jericho, although she also made headlines when she wrestled Masahiro Chono during her run in New Japan.
