Jazmyn Nyx Explains Her Decision To Turn Down A New WWE Contract

During the latest episode of NXT, Jazmyn Nyx was written off television following an attack, with Jacy Jayne, her now-former Fatal Influence stablemate, delivering the line, “Only the strong survive.” Initially, this appeared to have been done to establish a future rivalry between Nyx and Jayne.

However, PWInsider.com has since reported that this was done as Nyx is actually leaving WWE, having declined a contract extension offer from the company. And now, the former college soccer player has taken to TikTok, revealing the reason she turned down the new contract was because she was unhappy with the pay offer and has other opportunities she wants to pursue.

“As you know, there’s been things circulating, and I kind of want to just set the record straight that I am not re-signing with WWE. This was a personal decision I had to make for myself and for my future personally. The contract that they were offering me for the next three years just wasn’t going to cut it for me financially, and that’s okay … There has been a lot of opportunities that I’ve had to turn down and pass up, but now that I am out of the job, I can kind of explore these opportunities more and take it more seriously.”Jazmyn Nyx

27-year-old Nyx, real name Jade Gentile, broke into the pro wrestling business via WWE’s Performance Center, having no prior experience. Initially, she became part of Chase University, although her career wouldn’t take off until she established the Fatal Influence stable alongside Fallon Henley and Jacy Jayne. Subsequently, she became a prominent part of NXT and even worked on TNA shows, thanks to the brands having a working relationship.
