Legendary Women’s Tag Team Launches Petition For WWE Hall of Fame Induction

In a spirited New Year’s resolution, legendary wrestling duo Itsuki Yamazaki and Noriyo Tateno, collectively known as the Jumping Bomb Angels, have announced their push for induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. The former WWF Women’s Tag Team Champions shared their goal on X, urging fans to sign a Change.org petition to garner support. Subsequently, fans have rallied behind the pair, with comments praising their trailblazing impact on Joshi wrestlers in America.

Tateno and Yamazaki debuted in All Japan Women’s Pro-Wrestling in 1981 and formed their iconic high-flying tag team in 1984. Excelling in WWE, they became the sole survivors at the inaugural Survivor Series, and they won the WWF Women’s Tag Team Championship at the 1988 Royal Rumble by defeating the Jimmy Hart-managed Glamour Girls. And while they retired as a team in 1989 to pursue solo careers, they briefly reunited in 2008.
