Melina Lays Out Her Terms For A Potential WWE Return

During a new interview with Going Ringside, Melina, the former multi-time WWE Divas Champion, has shared her thoughts on a potential return to the company. Unsurprisingly, she confirmed she would return, but stressed it would only be as a manager, not as an in-ring performer. However, she noted she’d need to see the contract, suggesting it would also depend on the travel schedule, indicating that her time on the road full-time is in the past.

As a manager it would be a yay, but I’d need to know more. Honestly, it’s kind of like, okay, what comes with the contract? … I worked all year round, every weekend, every show. I was the main person, and nobody really realizes that I had to do all the work all the time, which is good. I like getting paid, but at the same time, the only times I ever had off were when I was injured or had surgery. That was the only life I knew,  just working. But I don’t think that if I came back now, I’d have that same schedule.” – Melina

46-year-old Melina began wrestling on the independent circuit in 2001 before signing with WWE in 2004. Subsequently, she debuted as the manager of Joey Mercury and John Morrison, collectively becoming known as MNM. Transitioning to in-ring competition in 2005, she became a top Divas-era star, capturing the WWE Women’s Championship three times and the WWE Divas Championship twice. Known for athleticism, flexibility, and mic skills, she left WWE in 2011 and has since worked for TNA, House of Hardcore, and Billy Corgan’s NWA.
