Natalya Explains Why She Asked The Rock To Write Her Memoir Foreword Over Bret Hart

Third-generation wrestler Natalya has just released her memoir, “The Last Hart Beating” which chronicles her resilient journey in the business. Yet, while the book has been getting rave reviews many have wondered why The Rock wrote the foreword rather than a member of her family like Bret Hart.

And now while appearing on The Nikki & Brie Show, Natalya has explained she purposely made this decision due to not wanting to “lean” on family members. Additionally she noted how her background is similar to The Rock’s, giving him a unique insight.

“I wanted to include Bret, but I also wanted to show that this was also like, Okay, I’m not gonna just lean on family … I was like, I want to ask Dwayne if he would help me with this project because Dwayne’s dad was a wrestler. Dwayne’s grandmother, just like my grandfather, they were a wrestling promoter, and so Dwayne is the first third-generation male superstar in WWE. I’m the first female third-generation superstar in WWE, so I was like, we have all these similarities, but our careers were very different.”Natalya

43-year-old Natalya was born into the legendary Hart wrestling, and after working as a ring announcer began training at the infamous Hart Dungeon. From there she honed her skills in a version of Stampede Wrestling, going on to sign with WWE in 2007. Still, despite not always pushed as a huge star, she has remained highly respected by both fans and her peers, and looks set to join her father Jim Neidhart in the WWE Hall of  Fame sooner rather than later.
