At August’s NXT Heatwave, Ash By Elegance, previously known as Dana Brooke in WWE, won the TNA Knockouts World Championship during a triple threat match, and it was assumed she would have a long run with the belt. However, during Friday night’s Victory Road, she would shockingly vacate the title, which was later won by Kelani Jordan, who defeated Léi Ying Lee to become the champion.
As of writing, the exact reason for the 36-year-old needing to step away from the ring is unclear, although fans online have been heavily speculating with “ash by elegance pregnant” even being a trending topic at one point.
Ash By Elegance was previously with WWE for a decade, although despite her undeniable charisma, she was never treated as a genuine contender in the women’s division. Instead, she is likely best remembered for her backstage comedy segments with Reggie, Tozawa, and Tamina, during which she won the 24/7 Championship 15 times. However, she has since proved to her doubters that she was always capable of far more, having reinvented herself in TNA.
