Except for competing in the Royal Rumble match in 2022 and a couple of matches in Australia, Summer Rae’s time in the wrestling business ended in 2017 when WWE released her. Still, she remains busy, having resumed her modeling career and worked as an interviewer for the BYB Extreme Fighting Series, a bare-knuckle-fighting promotion. However, it appears that under the right circumstances, she could potentially return to the ring, revealing during an interview with TalkSport that she still gets “the itch” to wrestle.
41-year-old Rae, real name Danielle Moinet, broke into the wrestling industry in 2011 via WWE’s developmental territory FCW, which later became NXT. Initially, she would work as a ring announcer, but she soon transitioned into an in-ring performer, feuding with Paige. From there, she would make history by being the first woman on the rebranded NXT to be called up to the main roster, with her memorably becoming Fandango’s dance partner and valet on Raw.
