Priscilla Kelly Explains Why She Is Having Better Matches After Departing WWE

Gigi Dolin was released by WWE earlier this year and is therefore currently rebuilding her career under her real name, Priscilla Kelly. This sees the former reality television star work indie shows most weekends, with many who have watched her matches over recent months saying how much better she is in the ring than when she was in NXT. And now, during an interview with Ringsiders, the 28-year-old has acknowledged this and revealed WWE made her tone down her style.

“It’s not true. It’s up to your producers. It’s up to your opponents. It’s all this big machine. And for a lot of my time in WWE, I really wasn’t allowed, in one way or another, to wrestle the style that I like to wrestle. I wasn’t, a lot of times, allowed to hit my bridging Germans, some of my big kicks, and some of my move set. like, I wasn’t allowed to do … A lot of people are like, ‘Oh, you’re wrestling so much better now.’ And I’m like, ‘No, I’m wrestling how I was wrestling before WWE.’ It’s just WWE, in one way or another, wasn’t allowing me to have these kinds of matches on TV.”Priscilla Kelly

Kelly broke into the business in 2014, and due to being married to Darby Allin when AEW first launched, most fans thought it was only a matter of time before she officially became All Elite. Yet, despite making a couple of appearances for the promotion, it turns out that she wasn’t interested in signing with Tony Khan at the time because she did not want to be seen as riding Allin’s coattails. And while this was a very risky decision, it initially appeared to have paid off when she signed with WWE in 2021.
