Tanea Brooks, better known to pro wrestling fans as Rebel sadly disclosed last month that she had been diagnosed with primary pulmonary lymphoma, explaining her long absence from AEW television. And now she has returned to X to share a further update, sadly revealed that her new medication has been wreaking “havoc on my body,” suggesting things are no better since commencing treatment.
47-year-old Rebel first broke into the pro wrestling business in 2014 via OVW before debuting for TNA as part of their Menagerie faction alongside Rob Terry, Mike Knox, and Crazzy Steve. From there, she briefly received an opportunity to work for WWE, appearing on NXT television. Still, after receiving no contract offer from WWE, it seemed her future was outside the ring. However, AEW recruited her for a backstage hair and makeup role, leading to her introduction to AEW fans alongside Dr. Britt Baker.
