Ronda Rousey Addresses WWE Telling Her “There’s Always An Open Door”

Ronda Rousey’s second run in WWE was far less successful than her first, and few fans were shocked when she left the company. And now, during an interview with Yahoo Sports, the former MMA fighter has revealed that due to her family commitments, she doesn’t feel it’s likely she’ll return, despite being told, “There’s always an open door.

“I wanted to do a run with the Four Horsewomen, and I never got to do that. And now I feel like I’ve already accomplished everything that I wanted to in WWE, and all that’s really left for me is to go there and have fun with my friends, and none of my friends are there anymore … They were like, ‘There’s always an open door, if you ever want to come back, let us know.’ I just don’t think I could ever be on the road with the company again. I have two girls now, and hopefully we can have some more soon, I’d love that. And there’s just no room in my life to be able to maintain that lifestyle and a family at the same time.”Ronda Rousey

38-year-old Rousey’s first WWE run culminated with her headlining WrestleMania 35 against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, and had her wrestling career ended, it would likely have gone down as a success. However, she would return in January 2022, and subsequently, the hashtag #FireRondaRousey would begin trending on X, as fans felt that her performances were sloppy and slow. Still, she would work a handful of indie matches and even a ROH taping following her WWE departure, although, based on the above quote, it appears she is done with the business.
