It’s common knowledge that Marina Shafir and Ronda Rousey are close friends, and now, in an interview with Yahoo Sports, the former UFC star has addressed Shafir’s success as part of the Death Riders in AEW. Specifically, Rosuey would put over Jon Moxley for “being the most incredible human being ever,” due to his part in elevating Shafir’s wrestling career, and his overall “passion to give back.“
37-year-old Shafir was an MMA fighter before pursuing a career in wrestling, having a 1-2 professional and 5-0 amateur record. Still, despite her athleticism, she never got over in WWE, and many assumed she would disappear from the spotlight after her three-year run with the company ended with her release. However, having fully embraced the business, Shafir wasn’t prepared to step away from the ring, and thanks to being hand-picked by Moxley to be the female star of the Death Riders, she is now prominently featured in both AEW and its sister promotion ROH.
