On Friday night, Lance Anoa’i took to X to announce his time with WWE had come to an end, which shocked many, as he hadn’t had the opportunity to wrestle in NXT or even EVOLVE. However, it was soon discovered that he wasn’t the only wrestler leaving the company, as other talents also took to social media shortly afterward to inform their followers they had been let go.
And while there is the possibility other names could be added, as of writing, the list of those released in addition to Anoa’i is Brayden “BJ” Ray, Drako Knox, Haze Jameson, Jamar Hampton, Jin Tala, Stevie Turner, Summer Sorrell, and former NXT North American Champion Wes Lee.
The most notable female talent released was 28-year-old Stevie Turner, real name Lucy Bridge, who, while an accomplished in-ring performer, had most recently been working as the on-screen co-Assistant General Manager of NXT and General Manager of the Evolve brand. What’s next for the British wrestler remains to be seen, although considering she previously wrestled in Stardom, current AEW stars Toni Storm and Jamie Hayter, it’s possible she is on Tony Khan’s radar.
