Stephanie Vaquer Issues Apology Following Her Backstage Raw Promo

During this week’s episode of Raw, Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer confronted Liv Morgan in a backstage segment that grabbed fans’ attention. However, Vaquer has now taken to Instagram to address her line, “In Chile, professional wrestling doesn’t exist,” explaining that it was a slip of the tongue and that she meant wrestling wasn’t developed in Chile when she left the country. Additionally, Vaquer expressed her deep respect for Chilean wrestlers who have grown the industry there and apologized for the misunderstanding.

Professional wrestling in Chile traces its roots to the late 1970s, when wrestlers from Argentina’s Titanes en el Ring drew notable crowds in the country. Then, in the 1990s, WWE’s influence grew through local television channels, boosting wrestling’s popularity, and by the 2000s, an independent scene emerged with promotions like Revolución Lucha Libre and Xplosión Nacional de Lucha Libre. This allowed aspiring wrestlers such as Vaquer and Alejandro Sáez to rise from the previously underdeveloped landscape and help turn it into a thriving indie scene.
