The Rock Praises His Daughter For Achieving WWE Success Without His Help

The Rock’s eldest daughter, Simone Johnson, who works for WWE under the name Ava, is currently performing in a key role as the on-screen General Manager of NXT. And now, while attending the UK premiere of his latest movie alongside his offspring, The Rock has shared with MTV how proud he is of her for paving her own pro wrestling career without his help.

“It’s easy, I think, for you know, for any kid who wants to come up and do what their parents are doing, to maybe it’s not overt, but to utilize the influence telling you, you know, she it never happened. I never got that call like, ‘Hey, ‘can you call someone? Could you?’ I never got that call. And that’s the truth. And that’s the thing that makes me proud.”The Rock

24-year-old Ava once appeared to have a promising in-ring wrestling career, having joined WWE in 2020. However, after just six matches, of which only three were televised, the fourth-generation talent stepped away from competing. The speculated reason for this is that her multiple knee surgeries may have limited her ability to perform, which, if true, is very unfortunate. Still, she remains on WWE television in a figurehead role, and looks set to have a job for as long as she wants one.
