Over the years, wrestling championships have changed hands by accident, with Men on a Mission apparently winning the WWE tag team titles from the Quebecers at a house show in England being one of the most talked about. However, a new match may have now taken its place, as during this week’s episode of NXT, Thea Hail unexpectedly captured the Women’s North American Championship, with Blake Monroe apparently too winded to kick out. This was confirmed by Fightful Select, which noted the “botch” led to a “scramble backstage” and has caused creative issues.
22-year-old Hail, real name Madison Knisley, broke into the business in 2021, making brief AEW appearances, putting over Thunder Rosa and Julia Hart, before signing with WWE in 2022. Assigned to NXT, she quickly aligned with the popular Chase University faction alongside Andre Chase and Duke Hudson, ensuring plenty of TV time. Known for her energetic style, she has many fans predicting a very bright future for her, although no one saw her picking up a victory over Monroe at this time.
