TNA Wrestler Issues Statement Following Domestic Abuse Allegation

Earlier this week, a close friend of indie wrestler Alexander Atkisson, who works under the name Akira, posted text messages and photos on social media, claiming that he had endured a toxic relationship with TNA wrestler Masha Slamovich. The disturbing allegation stated that Slamovich physically attacked him and subjected him to verbal abuse during their relationship.

Subsequently, a TNA spokesperson confirmed to Sports Illustrated that the promotion had launched an internal investigation, indicating that the serious accusation is being taken seriously. And now Slamovich has responded to the allegations via a statement on X, expressing regret and shame, and apologizing to her ex-boyfriend.

“Up until the beginning of this year, I was in a toxic and mutually destructive relationship. We hurt each other deeply, and in private moments, failed to treat each other with the consideration and respect we both deserve. I take responsibility for my actions and I am sorry, embarrassed, and ashamed of the role I played in our relationship and the way things turned out. In the time since, I have sought help to reflect on this time and deal with conflict in more mature, healthier, and sustainable ways. I apologize to those that I let down, including my former partner. I hope he is able to heal. This will be my only statement on the matter.”Masha Slamovich

Slamovich, whose real name is Anna Khozin, began her wrestling career in 2016 and quickly rose to prominence, appearing on TNA programming within a few years. Over time, she became a key figure in the promotion, securing the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championships three times and recently holding the TNA Knockouts World Championship for 267 days. Yet despite her accomplishments and unquestionable talent, some believe that these allegations have ended her career in mainstream wrestling.
