Stephanie Vaquer recently missed the whole of August and half of September from the ring, with the reason for her absence unclear. However, after she won the vacant WWE Women’s World Championship at Wrestlepalooza, Triple H has addressed the Chilean’s unplanned time off, revealing during the post-show that Vaquer had been “very sick”, having been suffering from flu-like symptoms.
32-year-old Vaquer broke into the pro wrestling business in 2009 in her home country of Chile, initially competing under the ring name Dark Angel. From there, she began working in Mexico, where she also holds citizenship, and after establishing herself in the land of lucha libre, she started to get booked in Japan, taking her career to the next level. Therefore, despite having previously been rejected by WWE following a tryout, it didn’t come as a massive surprise that management changed its mind about signing her after her impressive match with Mercedes Moné at Forbidden Door.
