Trish Stratus Reveals How Vince McMahon Reacted To Her Turning Down Playboy

At one time, WWE had a working relationship with Playboy, which featured several talents, including Sable and Chyna, stripping for the magazine. However, one name that fans often requested but never appeared was Trish Stratus. And now, during an interview with Pod Meets World, the 50-year-old has revealed that she was offered the opportunity but turned it down, despite her then-boss, Vince McMahon, pressuring her, suggesting that it may have cost her other opportunities.

“I’m like a tomboy, even though I am known as a sex symbol, I suppose. That is not me. That is my character. It was not even an option. That is not me. Even when I had to do lingerie stuff, it just wasn’t me … When Playboy came along, I was like, ‘Absolutely not interested.’ Vince, oh my God, hounded me like crazy. He’s like, ‘It’s a great opportunity.’ I was shown during that time, if you turn this down, we’re going to give your opportunity to her.”Trish Stratus

It was believed Stratus had retired from the business following her defeat to Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam 2019. Yet, the Canadian opted to return to the ring at WrestleMania 39, teaming with Becky Lynch and fellow WWE legend Lita against Damage CTRL. This would lead to a feud with Lynch, resulting in a series of matches between the pair, including a hard-hitting steel cage match. And while she would miss all of 2024, she has wrestled at this year’s Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and Evolution, indicating she will be treated as a special attraction from now on.
