Update On Whether AMC Deal Will End The TNA-NXT Partnership

On Tuesday, AMC, the channel behind Better Call Saul, Mad Men, and The Walking Dead, took to X to announce that, starting January 15, 2026, TNA would air on the station. And while this news delighted long-time fans of the promotion, there was concern after sports business insider Blake “Axe” Avignon stated on X that this meant the end of the NXT–TNA partnership, as the deal would trigger the 60-day termination clause. However, this has now been disputed, with PWInsider posting an update stating their contacts in both companies have told them the existing partnership remains.

“PWInsider.com has spoken with sources in each company and each were adamant that the existing partnership between the two sides, which was announced as being a multi-year deal in January 2025, will continue on. WWE sources also confirmed they were made aware of TNA’s deal with AMC well in advance of today’s announcement, so it was not a case of TNA blindsiding them …We will see how the relationship continues in the months and years to come, but we are told by all involved that today’s announcement was not the death knell of the relationship between the two sides.”PWInsider.com

In a landmark move for professional wrestling, TNA announced a multi-year partnership with WWE’s NXT brand on January 16, 2025, fostering talent exchange and cross-promotional appearances. This built upon their previously informal collaborations, in which TNA stars debuted on NXT and vice versa. And while this has seen some call TNA just another off WWE’s developmental territories, it’s believed the partnership opened the door for television negotiations with larger channels.
